Welcome! If you are not someone who used yarn on a daily basis, or buys yarn online, this is probably not for you. :-) This site is dedicated to uncovering the controversy surrounding the online yarn company Mystical Creation Yarns, and other names it has popped up under. Many knitters worldwide believe they have been scammed by this company, and I'm using this wiki to organize information related to that.

Please note, I am not saying that they did or did not scam people, just presenting the facts as they come to me.

For those of you on ravelry.com, the MCY thread has over 10,000 readers, as well as well over 10,000 posts. The thread was started a few months ago by one person who didn't get what she was paid for, and was wondering if anyone else had had a problem with the company. Turns out, many knitters have.

MCY is known now in the knitting community for not sending out packages, sending out the wrong things, and, for the lucky few who got the right colors, the yarn bled so bad that one person has stated that she used the dye that ran off to dye three more skeins.

There's many more to this story, Danielle's death from cancer, ghost sitings in Wal-mart, zombies talking to former customers over the phone and, in a couple of cases, zombies giving refunds. This is, as you can see, not a story for the lighthearted.

Why then, am I doing this? Because I want to make sure *all* knitters find out the truth. I want to make sure that, if she has been scamming people and is not actually dead, that she doesn't have work in the yarn community again. If she's dead, we'll report that here, so stay tuned! Also, there is an effort to get *everyone* that has potentially been scammed by her to file with the New Mexico Attorney General, so that they know what is going on in their state, and so that they can get people the refunds they deserve. One refund can already be attributed to contact with the NM AG. There is also an IC3 investigation that has been opened.

This site is still under construction, so please keep it bookmarked for any new changes. I can promise you two things from this site, and that is 1)All information will strive to be factual--I reserve the right to mistakes, but will try to keep them down and also to keep personal feelings out. 2) Any and all personal information will be kept off of this site.
